RACEHORSE REHOMING: PLUCKY

Plucky is a 10 year old, thoroughbred gelding. He is approximately 16.1hh (best guess) and had his last race on 2 May 2026. He was a favourite in the racing stable and was rehomed to a great home. Unfortunately, his new person had a fall from her other horse. This has meant she is unable to look after either horse for a while. She reached out to assist with finding him a suitable new person. He is currently out of work, is sound and does not windsuck. The racing stable representative said he was kind, gentle and really likes people. I treated him while he raced and this is my memory of him as well. I was told he is pretty straightforward to ride and does not rear, bolt or buck. He may have the occasional small shy at a leaf if it looks at him funny when blowing by.

Since he has retired, he has had a bit of time off and the beginnings of some basic retraining. He now knows how to lunge at a walk, trot and canter in both directions. He can also negotiate cavalettis competently. His person described him as having a sensible attitude with no nasties shown. He is a very loveable character on the ground. She feels he would be suitable to be retrained to eventing, showjumping or as an all rounder. He is a people horse. I feel he would also be awesome in an EAL role.

You will need to be experienced with OTTTB's or have a trainer to assist you and known to me or the current owner. If not, you will need to be vouched for by someone we know. He is for sale for $500 and the right home is way more important than moving him on quickly.
