RACEHORSE REHOMING: GRINGO

Gringo is a 7 year old standardbred. He is a compact, handsome fella approximately 15,2hh from memory. He raced as a younger horse then was spelled due to having sore feet. As the owner is married to the trainer, he was turned out into their own property. Then life and client horses took priority and Gringo was left to enjoy and extra long holiday. He was bought back into work early this year and has had 3 starts. He sent a strong message he did not want to race anymore, especially in his last race.

He is retiring sound, I found him a lovely horse to be around and thought he would make a great riding horse. He has not been started under saddle. I am told he is good for the farrier, vet and to float. He is calm at the races and at the training track. There has been no sign of the feet being sore this preparation. He has been in with other horses.

The trainer/owner would love to find him a home where he can be cherished, and have a fun partnership with someone special. He would make a pretty cool family horse and I feel he could do anything with the right retraining.
