Bridey is a rising 4-year-old, thoroughbred mare. She is approximately 16/16.1hh (best guess) and a bright bay with one white sock. She is still developing in her body and mind so you have a fabulous foundation to work with. She is sound. The trainer felt like she needed more time to develop physically but she was not showing any real desire to race so......someone will be very lucky, She has had 3 trials and 1 race over two preparations.
Her trackwork rider says her canter is amazing, naturally works in a frame, and is very responsive and soft in the mouth. She is happy for you to dictate the speed. She works well beside other horses and never shows signs of any separation anxiety. She can occasionally be a little marey but never nasty. She has been in a paddock with other horses while spelling.
She recently really impressed me with her body control and her ability to recover after a fright. I think she could be an amazing horse in the right hands.
My sense of her is that she is yet to know who she is, she certainly enjoyed having me in her stable to the point where I had to get someone to hold her so I could take photos. She seems pretty straightforward. I have only treated her once but I had a quick feel of her body after I took some photos and she felt amazing. I think she would be good at most things and we will consider a suitable retrainer to figure out her niche. She is not a beginner's horse.
You will need to be someone I know or can be vouched for by someone I know and experienced with transitioning off the track racehorses, You are welcome to get a Vet Check if you wish.
